Dental SEO in Oakville: what patients search, and who holds the map
In Oakville the clinics at the top of Google's map are not the ones with the most reviews. We measured the searches and the map in October 2026; here is what an Oakville practice is up against, and a free scan to see your own clinic's position.
The top three have fewer reviews than the clinics behind them
Searching “dentist oakville” on Google Maps from the centre of town, the first three clinics had 64, 120 and 81 reviews. Six clinics further down the first 20 had more than 500, including one with 812 in fifth place and one with 849 in fourteenth.
That tells an Oakville practice two things. A long review history does not hold the top spots on its own: distance from the patient and how closely the profile matches the search weigh heavily. And the middle of the list is deep. The typical clinic in the first 20 had about 150 reviews, so a new practice should expect a crowded map once patients search a few blocks away.
Seventeen of the 20 used “Dentist” as their main Google category, two “Dental clinic”, and the first-place clinic “Cosmetic dentist”. Before choosing a category with a title in it, check the RCDSO advertising rules on that term.

Two things stand out. “Dental clinic oakville”, at 720 a month and nearly US$22 a click, is searched far more here than in Burlington or Milton, so the word “clinic” belongs on an Oakville practice's profile and pages. And whitening, at 590, is the biggest single treatment search, ahead of implants. A clear page on how the clinic does whitening can meet that search without calling anyone a cosmetic dentist, a title Ontario dentists can't use.
